Parameters

Every option you can put in a logo URL, grouped by what it controls.

All parameters go in the query string of /v2/logo, /v2/variations or /v2/brief. None is required except text. Names are lower case, values are not case sensitive, and a few parameters accept shorter aliases. Where a picture is shown, it is one name and one seed drawn once per value, so the only thing that changes between the images is the parameter being described.

A value the service cannot use is replaced and reported in the X-LogoLava-Warning header. A name it does not know is ignored without a warning. The list below is generated from the same data the service uses, and /v2/options returns it as JSON.

Text

What the logo says, and how the name is read.

The name to design for: a brand name or a domain (bluefinlabs.com). Up to 60 characters.

Integer seed. The same name and seed always draw the same logo. Omit for a random one (the seed used is returned in the X-LogoLava-Seed header and the JSON).

Type

Colour

Palettes, your own brand colours and light or dark ink.

palette

Palette id (see /v2/palettes).

hue

Bias the palette toward this hue (degrees).

scheme

Background

The card behind the logo.

bg

A type (auto solid gradient radial conic mesh aurora soft pattern transparent), one hex colour, or 2-5 hex colours for a gradient through them.

angle

Gradient angle in degrees.

grain

Fine grain over the background, which also kills gradient banding. 0 turns it off.

vignette

Darken the corners.

radius

Rounded-corner card, in px. 0 is square.

pad

Outer padding: a fraction of the short side (0.12) or pixels (24).

Symbol

The mark: which one, how it is painted, and the shape around it.
